These groups are run by the SET team members or service users who have been in the groups themselves and then continued the group to provide support for other people. These groups do not run on a permanent basis, and work on an invite and referral basis. Please ask you therapists about the groups if you are interested in them. Looking to the Future Group: For people who have had head injuries and have to re-think their futures. First Friday Club: Providing a supportive forum for head injured people. Regaining Confidence After Stroke Group:For younger people struggling to adjust to the after effects of stroke. The Way Ahead Group: A follow on group for those that have attended Regaining Confidence programme. Cognitive Rehabilitation Group: Education, practical exercises and activities are provided to improve areas of cognitive function . Memory in Conversation: 2 day information workshops to help people with memory difficulties cope with conversation more confidently. CFS/ME Education Group: Holistic information and education relating to all aspects of chronic fatigue. Multiple Sclerosis Fatigue Management Group: Information, education and strategies to help people manage their fatigue and balance their daily activities. Multiple Sclerosis Fatigue Management Follow - on Group: A follow on support group for those who have attended the Fatigue Management Group. Social Leisure and Opportunities Group: A social and leisure group for people to access community activities with increased independence. Memory Group: Support and strategies for people who have memory difficulties and have attended the memory in conversation workshops. Supporting Speech: Exercises and strategies to maximise speaking ability for people who have dysarthria. Total Talking: Practical information and strategies to enable partnersand people with aphasia to communicate more effectively. Brain Power: Group and one-one support for people who have undergone brain surgery. Web Site Group: A voluntary group for people to share their ideas and help us to develop our website. Reading Group/Book Club: Gym/Leisure Group: A group to improve general fitness, activity, social interaction and exercise independence of patients with neurological disability. |
